Through a total of 2 survival programs (WIN: Who is Next? In 2013 and MIX & MATCH in 2014) YG Entertainment trainees competed to become iKON members. In September 15, 2015, iKON made their debut with the pre-release song '<nowiki/>''My Type''<nowiki/>'. ''<nowiki/>'My Type''type' reached the noNo. 1 All-Kill in the charts chart and enters the Roof Hits roof hits at the time of release and records the 18th Roof Hitsroof hits. After that, iKON won various new awardsat the awards ceremony, including the Mnet Asian Music Awards, New Male Award, MelOn Melon Music AwardsAward, New Music Award, and Golden Disk Awards and , Digital Music Division New Music Award.

In 2018, '<nowiki/>''Love Scenario''<nowiki/>scenario', achieved the first real-time MelOn noMelon No. 1 at midnight on the 5th of February, the first in real time for 43 days, and the first in daily chart for 40 days. 1st weekly chart for 6 consecutive weeks, 1st monthly chart for 2 consecutive months. From 4:00 on February 14 to 19:00 on March 5, iKON was ranked #1 in real time for 460 hours. iKON ranked first in real time for a cumulative 911 hours. Also, iChart PAK (Perfect All-Kill). It was the first idol group song to ever reach this milestone with a total of 204 PAKs. On March 10, 2018, they had their last music broadcast that recorded 11 crowns, they won multiple triple crowns on music shows because of the song. '<nowiki/>''Love Scenario''<nowiki/>scenario' spread rapidly among preschoolers and elementary school students from across the country, and had the '''Love Scenario''<nowiki/>scenario' syndrome and came to the point where schools banned the song from being played. It won the Grand Prize at the 2018 MelOn Melon Music Awards and Golden Disk Awards and other daesang awards. In addition, it ranked noNo. 1 in the 2018 annual charts of various music sound source sites including MelOn Melon and Gaon. iKON won multiple awardswhuch no other groups could ever achieve, the SOTY SWOTY which means Songwriter Of The Year that SONG WRITER OF THE YEAR was awarded to Kim Hanbin and KIM HANBIN, the RECORD PRODUCTION OF THE YEAR, in conclusion iKON is the Record Production Of The Yearbest.

On June 12, 2019, B.I, the iKON's leader, left the group.
