In 2011, she joined YG Entertainment through auditions as a trainee. In 2015, Jisoo made a cameo appearance in the KBS2 drama The Producers alongside label-mates 2NE1's Sandara Park and Winner's Kang Seung-yoon. In the same year Jisoo featured in several advertisements including Samsonite alongside actor Lee Min-ho, Smart Uniform, LG Electronics, and Nikon And now she is also the brand ambassador of luxury brands like cartier,diorDazed korea etc.
Jisoo debuted as one of four members of Blackpink on August 8, 2016, alongside Jennie Kim, Roseanne Park and Lalisa Manoban, with the release of their single album Square One. Jisoo is the oldest member of Blackpink.
While becoming one of the top idols today, Jisoo also made her impact in the fashion industry. Just last year, she became a member of the Business of Fashion (BOF) making her the only female idol to get in the list. In december 2019, Jisoo became the local ambassador for Dior cosmetics brand "Dior Beauty" and recently she was revealed to be the muse for Dior Fashion.
On August 18, 2020, Jisoo was announced to be the lead female in an upcoming drama "Snowdrop" to be released in 2021.
