The BLACKPINK's debut song 'BOOMBAYAH' was a huge success and was the first girl debut song by a K-pop group to debut songs reached hit 1 billionstreams on YouTube. The BlackPink was the first K-Pop girl group to perform at Coachella. The fist kpop BlackPink is the first K-Pop idol group to reach 60m 60 million subscriberson video streaming platform YouTube.

They also broke records when they were still a rookie group. The group debuted on August 8, 2016 with their single album Square One, which featured "Whistle" and "Boombayah" and had their very first win after 13 days of their debut. They've got a Perfect All Kill with a debut song ("WHISTLE" 3 WEEKLY PAK), their first number-one entries on South Korea's GAON Digital Chart and the Billboard World Digital Song Sales chart, respectively.
