He was born on December 4, 2003 in Seoul, South Korea. He was signed as a trainee in YG Entertainment in the year of 2015. Doyoung has made his appearance in STRAYKIDS reality survival show alongside with few fellow [[TREASURE]]'s members, then fellow male trainees, back in 2017.
He debuted as a vocalist member of Korean boy group TREASURE on August 7, 2020.

Doyoung is a mischievous, cheeky and cheesy boy. He doesn't shy away from saying absurd things which makes him childlike sometimes. He is friendly, and open to new encounters, new friendships and environment. He smiles a lot and his smile is bright. He has a peculiar taste in fashion with a touch of extravaganza. He loves to exceed everyone's expectations. He wildly mixes fashion items and tries them on himself.
Doyoung, or a.k.a Sam, his chosen English name, is a self-claimed homebody, albeit friendly; he likes to spend time indoors with his family and members. He is an active boy. He enjoys out door activities. He has always maintained a healthy looking body proportion.
Doyoung is a planner, he believes in drawing out the route to target goals. He doesn't like to waste time; , so he plans. He wakes up the earliest among the members, along with [[Asahi]].
