Choi Hyunsuk
Choi Hyun-suk (Korean: 최현석; Kanji:チェ・ヒョンソク; Pinyin: 崔玹硕) is a South Korean rapper and one of two leaders, alongside Jihoon, of boy group TREASURE under YG Entertainment. The group made their official debut on August 7, 2020 with the title track, "Boy", of the first single album 'THE FIRST STEP: CHAPTER ONE'. He is also known for his appearances as a contestant on reality survival programs MIXNINE with Junkyu of TREASURE and YG Treasure Box.
Background info
At the age of 8, Hyunsuk formed the interest and later dreamed to become a rapper, as the result of finishing the documentary series of then infamous boy group BIGBANG's 'THE BEGINNING'. Heading solely towards the aforementioned group's initiative agency YG Entertainment, he willed himself to practice his skills and musical senses. Through V-Spec Academy, he auditioned and later successfully signed as a trainee of the agency in the year of 2015.
He is an emotional and warm person. He is outwardly affectionate to those he cares. He has a bright personality, smile, and warm hugs.
He likes the number of 7 for it brings him good luck and the word 'chill', consequently, he called '7chill' as his signature. Coincidentally, 'chil (칠)', the number 7 in Korean, sounds like his favorite word. He even named his LINE 'TRUZ' - a IP collaboration between LINE FRIENDS and TREASURE, 'ChiLLi'.

- 7 is Hyunsuk's favorite number. He said on his birthday vlive 2019 "It's because my birthday is 21/4. If you sum them up, it's 2+1+4 = 7 (in korean 7 = 'chil'). My family also agrees on this. Later, I was announced as the 7th TREASURE member. So 7 has always been my fav! When I played soccer in my childhood, I also used 7chill."
- Hyunsuk really likes purple. "The reason I like purple is because my mom and dad were busy and rarely at home. So, I was used to playing alone. There was this one day, I was afraid of sleeping; then there was a purple light from outside the window and by looking at that, I became calm."

Anecdotes
— Hyunsuk mentioned in an interview that Teume was like his own friend. At that time, Teume pretended to be sad because we're all exposed to be "friendzone". Then one day, Teume made fun of him by making the nickname 'HyunGu' (Hyunsuk Chingu) on V Live. Hyunsuk apologized with a slight whine after reading the comments.
