He was trained since young under YG Entertainment Japan Branch, with his family's support his dream to become an idol. After years long training, a team of Japanese trainees including Haruto was formed to compete in YG TREASURE BOX (YGTB) survival show. They departed to South Korea in early 2018 for months, and eventually, Haruto was announced as the first line up of TREASURE as his performances shone through, he proved himself as the stylish, charming low tone and talented rapper.
With his chic-looking and his collected demeanor, he is sometimes mistaken as aloof, but he is more often than not, shows his playful side. The IT Boy is described to be 'tsundere' by many fans, as he shows his warmth, and care, and softness for his members. He is said to be the hug giver of the group when members need comfort, he will seek them out and they will have hugs shoved in their faces. He is beyond soft and considerate towards his fans and fans' concerns.
